To our grandfather Apostolos Siaraferas, fur was a commodity to be traded. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to the USA via Ellis Island in New York in 1915 in order to sell fur scrap material. To our father, Dimitrios it was a material he learned to beautifully handcraft into fur plates and sell to Germans and other Europeans. To my brother Apostolos and I, Panos, this craft was learned and delicately precisioned in New York during the 1980’s where we first worked in all areas of fur garment making and in 1985 started our workshop.
